ABOUT THIS EVENT
For 35 years, the ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security’s Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law has been the premier CLE event in the nation, drawing as speakers and participants many of the most prominent practitioners, government officials, law professors, judges, and other national security professionals. This year's 36th annual conference will be focused on the legal frameworks and policies governing the intersection of emerging technologies and national security. Rapid advances in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology are testing established legal norms and posing fundamental questions about governmental authority, oversight, and accountability -- including the very capability of our legal system to respond quickly and effectively to challenges presented by technological development. This CLE conference will address these developments over two full days of presentations and discussions, including networking sessions and keynote luncheon and dinner speakers.
