Welcome - Fall 2026 National Legal Malpractice Conference

It is my pleasure to serve as the Chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability.
One of the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of the role is planning our biannual National Legal Malpractice Conferences. The Conferences are an opportunity to discuss and consider many of the important issues in our practice area, network with colleagues to meet the most cutting-edge voices in the profession, and plan extraordinary content and social events to be enjoyed by all attendees. As I say repeatedly, the Conferences are like old “school days” in that we are blessed with the opportunity to visit with old friends and make new ones.
I am pleased to report that our Spring 2026 ABA National Legal Malpractice Conference in Miami, Florida, was an extraordinary success. It brought together all of those important components and then some! We had record turnout at the Biltmore Hotel Miami Coral Gables, wonderful receptions, and outstanding programming, including a keynote speech from US Federal Judge Roy K. Altman.

I’m excited to announce that we are primed and ready for the next. Our Fall 2026 National Legal Malpractice Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada will be a legendary event you won’t want to miss! Our host, the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa, was named one of the world’s best new hotels by Conde Nast Traveler and holds an array of accolades to its name. Their unparalleled luxury and personalized service is sure to please our group in every way. With our planned programming, special Thursday evening reception – the High Roller Reception, and Friday activity, you can take in Las Vegas like never before!

I would like to thank Rinat B. Klier Erlich of Zelms Erlich Lenkov LLP, for serving as the Las Vegas Conference Chair; Alyssa Johnson of Barron & Newburger, P.C, and Christina Lopez of Jenner & Block for graciously serving on our Young Professionals sub-Committee – an initiative that has very special importance to us, not only in sustaining our traditions, but introducing all of us to the next generation of leaders and supporters.
